Note (17MAR2025): Another Pyrrhic Victor

Score another pyrrhic victory for yours truly, Dr. Cassandrus. Over the years, he has won many? And?

Question: Can one, average person substantially change the course of history? Yes. Such a person, a loose canon, is whom the ruling powers fear the most.

This commentator did in 1994 with the publication against ClintonCare of his book, Healthcare Reform D.O.A. (out-of-print),* and two, quarter-paged letters to the President, published simultaneously in The Washington Post and The Washington Times on the day that Congress reconvened. Clinton’s high-flyer in January went down in flames in August. This commentator’s book and the letters helped shoot it down. How do we know? A top official in the Republican National Committee told us so. In 1995, unsolicited the book received two nominations for national awards by the American Risk & Insurance Association, the academic arm of the insuring industry. Gratifying? Yes.

*A detailed copy of his plan for medical delivery appears in his latest novel, Retribution Fever.

So, why pyrrhic? After many other postings on this website and thousands upon thousands of “likes” on comments made on the Web, take the posting hereinbelow as an example. The always highly-censored Wall Street Journal dated 06MAR2025 on page A3 reported that President Trump would be halting deportation of illegal aliens by military aircraft. “Too expensive and inefficient!” Where did such a claim appear before? Right! Hereinbelow.

Ah, but the halt applies to only military aircraft in favor of civilian. Still too expensive and inefficient, Mr. President. A pyrrhic victory for this commentator? Yes.

Curiously, a number of policies and programs being adopted by President Trump appeared in this commentator’s hybrid-novel, Retribution Fever (2018). Did Mr. Trump read it? Did his advisor, Kellyanne Conway, to whom a copy was sent? Who knows?

Whatever the case, what is is. One must continue trying one’s best despite the obstacles that fate and foes  mount. As the Old Philosopher, Eddie Lawrence, sang in 1956, “Never Give Up That Ship.”

Note (24FEB2025) Update! Now a month after the original posting, Mr. Trump’s plan for deportation seems to be becoming more apparent. Deport initially the worst of the worst as promised — by the planeload, which makes no sense logistically but does politically; not the shipload, which makes more sense logistically but not politically. Then, deport the rest including unaccompanied minors as just announced. That which makes the most sense, however, is neither by planeload nor by shipload but by self-deportation. Ah, but how?

To promote self-deportation, the government must create a context in which the contingencies favor self-deportation. What kind of context? Either one of positive control or of negative control.

Positive control would require paying each illegal alien a sufficient amount from the productive taxpayers’ fruits of his labor to induce the millions of such aliens to leave voluntarily. It would involve rewarding bad behavior, at which our welfare-ridden, maternalistic society is very good. What would be the total cost? Experience would determine the amount, whatever is required.

Negative control would require punishing each illegal alien, children excepted, for remaining illegally in the country. Of what would such punishment consist. Certainly, not placing them in encampments at taxpayers’ expense. Something far more draconian and far less costly. For a discussion of the answer unpalatable as it may be, see hereinbelow as derived from the novel, Retribution Fever; or continue to play “Let’s Pretend”.

“You can fool all of the people some of time; you can fool some of the people all of the time, and them’s pretty good odds.” -paraphrase of Abraham Lincoln

Confusion confounds the clarion call for clarity. Estimates vary; however, some number more than 15-million, illegal aliens invaded these United States invited to do so during the cursed tenure of the senile, corrupt, traitorous ex-President Joe Biden. During now-President Trump’s more recent, presidential campaigning, he promised massive deportations of these invaders starting immediately.

Well, the deportations have started immediately, but they hardly are massive. Hundreds at a time at most versus the millions requiring deportation. That which the deportations truly are is expensive to you, the productive taxpayer. Why? The transport of these invaders is by air, the most expensive, least efficient means of transportation. To achieve altitude after lift-off for jet-powered airliners, two hundred thousand to five hundred thousand pounds of thrust are required to overcome gravity.

Transport by water would be the least expensive, most efficient, most practicable means to whence they started. No harbor available? Transport to the nearest, practicable harbor then transport by bus.

Transport by water? How? Lease old steamers no longer in active use. Pack the invaders to an optimal number. Feed them minimally nutritious, inexpensive meals. Render only the most basic medical care. Americans owe them nothing!

Wait! We live in a maternalistic matriarchy. Does not commonplace opinion demand transport first class on airliners with meals of Filet Mignon accompanied by the finest wine imported from France or the equivalent.

Of course, the cheapest, most efficient procedure to send the illegal aliens packing was described in the novel, Retribution Fever, as follows:

In 1953 with “Operation Wetback”, President Eisenhower proved that we can defend our southern border effectively with a minimum of manpower at a minimum of expense provided that we employ sufficiently potent and immediate contingencies. We will. We must. Resurrection of the traditional American character and culture is at stake.

Furthermore, all persons currently in these United States illegally will have one hundred days in which to leave peaceably. After that period, we shall arrest them and place them into detaining camps until we can repatriate them at minimal expense consistent with humane values whether their countries of origin want them. Be advised, we will repatriate them . . . by force if necessary. Those who forcibly resist arrest will be shot with intent to kill.

[Note for Readers: When the use of lethal force is well advertised beforehand, lethal force seldom becomes necessary.]

During stays in the detaining camps, illegal aliens will receive only basic meals and basic medical care. They will be granted no rights or entitlements, whatsoever, under the Constitution; which should not confer its protections to invaders . . . armed or unarmed. Previous rulings of an imperious U.S. Supreme Court have rested largely upon the prior, problematic Fourteenth Amendment, which easily could be interpreted to reach the opposite conclusion. Any trials will be by military not civilian tribunals.

Be Mr. Trump serious about deporting 15-million illegal aliens, he will employ the least expensive, most efficient means available. Transportation by air of the huge number of illegals will require years if not decades. To continue the current procedure is to renege on his campaigning promises; but, then again, that’s politics. Fool the people by giving them a little taste of the promised cheese, certainly not the whole amount.
