The new year brings the reïnauguration of Nation On Fire. First topic? So-called democratic socialism.
Of note, the end of last August marked the release of a new novel, Retribution Fever. It represents the scientific antidote to the lethal toxin of “democratic socialism”. As was its predecessor, Inescapable Consequences (2009) from which it was derived, Retribution Fever is semi-fictional; that is to say, its dramatic characters and plot are fictional, but the historical events and scientific principles cited are non-fictional. Fiction and non-fiction are interwoven into an educational and entertaining, literary fabric. Recall the following words:
“In literature . . . no work can be considered as really first-rate unless it teaches us somewhat — not merely pleases us.” -Grant Allen (1848-1899)
Biobehavioral Science
The teaching draws upon Biobehavioral Science — the amalgamation of Biological Science and Behavioral Science. Never heard of it? If not, you’re hardly alone. Even so, it’s being employed to control your thoughts, feelings, and actions every day — think Facebook, Twitter, censorship on major web-sites, etc. It can reduce you to mental slavery and physical serfdom or elevate you to becoming all that you can be. Using a technology known as the “token economy”, the Chinese, for example, are employing Biobehavioral Science to control a nation of more than one billion. Yes, Science can be employed for both evil and good. Sadly, the Chinese give those of us who pioneered token economies bitter gratification.*
*See, for example, Mann RA and Moss GR: “The Therapeutic Use of a Token Economy to Manage a Young and Assaultive Inpatient Population.” Journal of Nervous & Mental Disease 157: 1-9 (1973).
The Book
Retribution Fever begins with a series of three Furies decimating the human population. Worldwide economic collapse, international nuclear terrorism, then global pandemic. In the aftermath and amid the ruin arises full-blown tyranny in the form of “democratic socialism”.
“I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.” -Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826)
In response, a group of military officers forms to organize resistance but resistance towards what goal? Enlisting the help of a small group of experts in Biobehavioral Science, they design a plan to reform the four cornerstones of the nation — government, law, education, and medicine. Goal? To have resurrected traditional, American ideals and values as embodied in the vision of the Founding Fathers — a resurrection characterized by moderation, prudence, and charity.
“Some men look at constitutions with sanctimonious reverence and deem them like the ark of the covenant — too sacred to be touched.”-President Thomas Jefferson
Resurrection, however, requires a comprehensive, scientific revision of the original Constitution of the United States of America. Such revision offers the only real antidote to the toxin of “democratic-socialism”.
Why? Magnificent as it was at the time, the original contained unavoidable fatal flaws that eventually led to the frightening devolution of the nation today with its reäwakening of Marxism — this time, American style.
What can save the nation from such grief? Not abstract ideologies divorced from Reality.
Who can save the nation? Not charismatic, political charlatans masquerading as saviors nor self-inflated, pontificating pundits spouting personal opinions reflecting only arrogant ignorance. No, only patriotic, law-abiding, productive citizens embracing the vision of the Founding Fathers.
How?
By employing Biobehavioral Science; specifically, the Science of Human Behavior. Retribution Fever presents a detailed, scientific roadmap providing direction onto the Road to Resurrection, leading away from the Path to Perdition. Resurrection offers us a nation with freedom of expression, freedom of religion, freedom of the media, freedom of association, protection of property, and promotion of liberty for all in a democratic republic. Perdition condemns us to the opposite.

“Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” -Galatians VI:7
As American citizens, we still have time to act. To act effectively, however, and to reap the rewards of that which we sow we need a set of principles to guide us. Retribution Fever provides those principles.
“Therefore, send not to know for whom the bell tolls.
It tolls for thee.” -John Donne (1572-1631)
Meanwhile, the bell signalling the approaching demise of capitalistic, democratic republicanism tolls; nevertheless, the choice whether to resist or to surrender survives — for the moment. The choice demands knowledge leading to victory else ignorance surely will lead to defeat. If, as have many great nations in the past, this nation flounders then fails, whom should we blame? No one but ourselves. The choice was ours.
-End-
What is the significance of the 86 at the end of this blog. Have I missed the first 85 entries?
Skinnerian Behaviorism is undeniably a powerful scientific method and tool. A big question philosophically: Will behavioral science be systematically applied politically — by whom and for what goals? Many Americans and people worldwide understand that we humans are now immersed in an an age of surveillance; our lives are systematically monitored and manipulated y those who have the means to gather (our) personal (digital) data, crunch it, and sell it at a profit. Will we as Americans (continue to) trade our personal data privacy for access to the social network? (Should we be paid by Mr. Zuckerberg if we do?)… Read more »
